High Endurance Triathlon Stream 

High Endurance Triathlon Stream is a course run by a team of experienced triathlon coaches aimed at equipping like-minded adults who have the goal to compete in long distance triathlons that include Busso100, Ironman 70.3 and Ironman. 

 

While a key objective is to train towards peak performance for these races, athletes in this stream will be equipped with knowledge around healthy training loads and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries.

 

What to expect:

There will be two pathways offered: intermediate or advanced depending on the athletes’ goals and ability.

 

All athletes will be provided a personalized program on Training Peaks consisting of 3x 4-week training blocks. The overview of the training block structure is as follows:

Block 1: Foundation work

Block 2: Build Phase

Block 3: Peak Performance and Race Phase

 

Additional sessions such as strength, mobility, yoga and information sessions will also be included during the recovery week of the training blocks

 

Cost:

 

OPTION 1: $160 per block ($40/week):

  • A detailed 12-week program set up on Training Peaks

  • All club training and coached training session included (2x swims, 2x ride, 2x runs per week)

  • Additional access to strength, mobility & yoga classes, info nights included in fee

  • Mentorship for advice and training needs

  • NCTC Squad environment

  • Individual triathlon specific S&C program designed by a physiotherapist

  • 15% discount at Star Physio for Bikefits and physio or podiatry consultations

OPTION 2: $40 per block training plan ($10/week):

 

  • Self-guided training with access to the Busso100 program set up on Training Peaks released per fortnight

  • NCTC squad environment

  • Option to attend coached sessions as needed (paid separately via NCTC portal)

  • Access to strength, mobility & yoga classes, info nights

  • 15% discount at Star Physio for Bikefits and physio or podiatry consultations

Course pre-requisites:

It is recommended that athletes participating in the High Endurance Stream have:

  • Completed a triathlon sprint or Olympic distance triathlon (strongly recommend)

  • Run 10km

  • Swim 1km 

  • Exposure to ocean water swimming 

  • Road cycling experience 

  • NCTC Member 

 

 

What you will need:

  • Garmin or Apple watch compatible with Training Peaks

  • Fins

  • Pull Buoy

  • Paddles

  • Goggles

  • Wetsuit

  • Road bike / TT bike

  • Helmet

  • Running attire
